Abstract

The stages carried out in the development of collections in the library strongly support how the availability of collections in the library is in accordance with the needs of users, making collection development in the library an activity that must be carried out. and its constraints. This research is qualitative and descriptive, and data collection is done by structured interviews and literature study. student interest, selection or selection of library materials, procurement of library materials, processing of library materials, and weeding of library materials are the stages that the IT Anugrah Hidayah Middle School library in Makassar City goes through in order to develop collections, according to the findings of this study. The library of SMP IT Anugrah Hidayah Makassar City faced a number of challenges during the collection development phase, including a lack of written policies, curriculum changes, and limited funds.
