Abstrak

This article discusses the problems and challenges of developing digital collections in libraries, especially in college libraries, by using a comparison of two journal articles entitled Collection Development in Digital Environment: A Case Study and Collection Development in Digital Libraries: Trends and Problems. The two journal articles contain various factors for the development of library collections in the digital library environment in India, both in the form of finding problems and solutions to the role of librarians and readers in the development of library digital technology. The method used is using qualitative methods comparatively. The results obtained are that in the development of digital collections in libraries there are challenges that often occur, namely the problem of qualified labor or librarians and budgetary or financial constraints in developing digital collections
