Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Educational Review and Cultural Studies will be screened for plagiarism and self-plagiarism using iThenticate. Depending on the level of originality and similarities with other documents (max. 20% similarities), the managing editor will decide on whether to immediately reject the manuscripts, contact authors for further clarifications, or to proceed to the blind peer-review process.

The authors should ensure that they have written about entirely work, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, these work/words have been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism takes many forms, from ‘passing off’ another’s paper as the author’s own paper, to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s paper (without attribution), to claiming results from research conducted by others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
